How do I get to Softfoot Farm?
Coming from Mt. Compass on Adelaide Road
Right turn onto Pambula Road
Right turn on Hindmarsh Tiers Road
Left turn onto Nettle Hill Road
Right turn on Sawpit Road
On left side, flags at driveway entrance
Left turn into the driveway
Coming from Goolwa, Middleton, Port Elliot or Victor Harbor on Adelaide Road

Head north towards Adelaide on Seaview Road – with Drakes supermarket on the left of the road and McDonalds on the right hand side (this road changes its name to Greenhills road as you travel along it).
*Do not turn off this road until you come to Sawpit Road on your right*

Accommodation Questions
What time is check out?
Standard check out is 10am via the main entrance of our restaurant. Early departures will be managed through a contactless service.
What amenities are available?
Each retreat is fully airconditioned and heated, has access to free Wi-Fi and plenty of cooking equipment. Instructions on accessing the Wi-Fi, how to use the safe, etc can be found in the compendium located on the coffee table. All linen and towels are provided. *Please note we do not receive free to air TV signal*
Each retreat also has a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle as well as all the cutlery crockery required to prepare meals during your stay. Enjoy the scenic views while cooking on the large BBQ on the deck.
How many people can stay in a retreat?
Each retreat has two king single reclining beds that are placed together as the main bed in a standard stay. For more than two guests, there is a double fold out couch bed in the main living / sleeping room. As well as single bunkbeds and a single fold out bed in a separate bedroom across the deck. Allowing up to 7 people to stay in each booking.
We are unable to provide porta-cots for infants but there is ample space for you to bring your own.
Are there meal options?
While we do not provide room service meal options, our restaurant Swagman Country Dining serves lunch from 10am - 2pm daily. Light lunches are available from Monday - Thursday and an A La Carte menu is available Friday – Sunday. Please see menu here Menu — Softfoot Alpaca Victor Harbor (theswagman.rest)
Where are the closest shops?
While staying with us you are a short 15-minute drive to Victor Harbor, where there are lots of activities, great beaches and restaurants to enjoy. There are plenty of supermarkets and takeaways to purchase food from to bring back and dine at your retreat.
Will we be able to see the alpacas?
Our alpacas aren’t visible from the retreats, as they roam our 600acre property. If you would like to meet and feed them, all retreat guests receive a 20% discount on our tours.
What can we do while staying at Softfoot?
Included in your stay, there are free walking trails and free tickets to our onsite Wildlife Park. For a more interactive and exciting experience we offer alpaca and wildlife tours, at a discounted rate.
Can I smoke at the retreat?
Smoking on, in, and around the retreats is strictly prohibited to keep everyone as safe as possible. Bush fire is a real threat we must endeavor to avoid at all costs. Failure to comply with the no smoking condition of stay may result in loss of right to stay without refund. Should you need, there is a designated smoking area located in the car park of Swagman Country Dining where you checked in.

When is the restaurant open?
The restaurant is open everyday 10am – 4pm
However we offer different menus on different days of the week, please see below to make your choice on when to visit.

Thursday Roast Special Day
Enjoy our delicious Roast & Wine package every Thursday (*lunch only), for $27.95 per person. Included with every booking is a free ticket to our recently opened Wildlife Park.

Are you open on public holidays?
We do not offer a full meal service on public holidays, however we still offer coffee, cake and some light food options for guests visiting the Wildlife Park, which is open 10am – 4pm daily excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day 2025
Can we BYO alcohol?
Our BYO corkage fee is $18 per bottle. We are a fully licensed venue that offers beer, wine and spirits. We also have a takeaway license where restaurant guests can enjoy 10% off the wine list.
Is there outdoor seating?
Our outside under cover seating area overlooks the valley and seats 30 people

Highchairs are available on request
Do we need to book a table?
We encourage people to book via open table or phone first, walk ins our welcome but please be aware it is subject to availability
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Gift vouchers can be purchased by phoning 0400 983 922 and can be used for other areas of Softfoot Farm (accommodation, tours etc)
Can I bring my pet to the restaurant?
To protect our Wildlife, no pets are allowed on the property. Registered disability service animals are allowed in the restaurant only. Unfortunately, they are not allowed in the Wildlife Park or on the Tours due to the stress it causes the animals in our care
Are there Vegan/ Vegetarian options available?
There are numerous options available, please see the Menu — Softfoot Alpaca Victor Harbor (theswagman.rest) available on the day you visit. Our Chef will try and accommodate your needs where possible including dairy free and nut free. Please note different menus are offered throughout the week, ensure you are looking at the right menu for the day of your intended visit.

Can we have our wedding/ event at Soffoot?
While we have hosted weddings and private events here previously, Softfoot is not set up as a large function venue, therefore we have higher fees than other venues. If you are still interested, please email bookings@softfoot.com.au with details of your function and one of our friendly staff will respond as soon as possible as to whether we are able to accommodate your request.
Our Restaurant can host bookings up to 40 people for private functions or special occasions. Please note exclusivity charges may apply and the menu is either preorder or alternate drop.
Decorations for a private function
All decorations are welcome except balloons of any kind, due to their negative environmental impact
Can we bring our own cake?
Guests are welcome to bring their own cake with a cake plating fee of $4pp

How long are the tours?
Approx 90 mins
What is the cost of the tours?
$75.00 per adult 18+
$45.00 per child 4-17
Kids under 4 free
When do the tours run?
Wildlife Feed Tours are run at 10:30am daily
Alpaca tours can be booked 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm daily
Tours operate every day except Public Holidays.
Do we need to book in advance?
We highly recommend booking in advance for our tours to guarantee your tours. Sometimes we can accommodate walk ins, but it is subject to availability.
Are the tours suitable for children?
Children of all ages are welcome on the tour. Please note, with children under 5 years on the buggy, we cannot do the adventure driving on the alpaca tour and must keep below 10km an hour. You will still see all the sights of the farm and get a chance to pat and feed many animals.
Children must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years old).
What the weather policy?
We run our tours under any weather conditions excluding catastrophic fire danger days and in heavy storms. If you would like to rearrange your tour due to weather concerns, please contact us at least 24 hours before hand and we can adjust your booking free of charge. We can supply raincoats should any members of the tour be concerned.
What do I need to bring?
You are welcome to bring a bag along on the tour, otherwise there are lockers available free of charge in the departure room. All that we recommend is a camera or phone to take photos and a bottle of water for hot days.
What do I need to wear?
Please wear casual comfortable clothes and most importantly wear flat, closed-toe shoes. Please note if you would like to do the adventure driving component of the tour there is a chance you may get dirty/ muddy so please wear appropriate clothing.
Guests taking part in the adventure driving component need to wear bike helmets that we provide, but you are also welcome to bring your own from home.
We provide drizabone raincoats for guests who would like to protect their clothes or who don’t bring their own rain coats.
How do I book?

Can I use a voucher or gift card for a tour?
In the booking system please select the “pay on the day” option and bring your voucher or gift card on the day.
Can I come on the tour in a wheelchair?
Unfortunately, due to the vehicles used for our tours we are unable to accommodate mobility scooters and wheelchairs but we may be able to tailor a different tour to suit your needs. Please contact our tour staff to discuss further 0499 631 654
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 24 hours prior to the tour receive a full refund, cancellations within 24 hours of your visit are not entitled to a refund but can reschedule to a different date or time free of charge.
