Softfoot Farm is a unique property offering escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern world to visitors of all ages.

Established in the late 1990’s, Softfoot is a privately owned family farm originally dedicated to a large forestry project aimed at reducing our carbon footprint.

The property then became home to a breeding herd of World Class Alpacas.

In the early 2000s the Retallick family achieved their dream of building 4 feral-proof sanctuaries which serve as a genetic ark for endangered australian marsupials .

Relax and enjoy while soaking up the breathtaking views over the valley and enjoy lunch at Swagman Country Dining restaurant. The wines have been attentively chosen from regions around South Australia. Experience the natural beauty of our surrounds and our warm country hospitality.

Onsite we also have a boutique offering of one-of-a-kind gift ideas including locally made alpaca fleece garments, toys, and quilts, and a unique museum exhibit of handmade Australian Studio pottery.
